Ulmet is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.

The name Ulmet is probably derived from the Latin ulmetum ('elm forest').

Geography

The eight kilometer long Gewässerlehrpfad runs from Ulmet to Erdesbach.

Politics

The village council is composed of twelve members, the current majority having been elected in 2004.

Economy and Infrastructure

The famous parish church, having borne the name Flurskapelle ('Field Chapel') for centuries, dates back to the year 1091.

Ulmet has a kindergarten and an elementary school.

The village is located on the B 420. In the south-west is the A 62. In Altenglan is a station of the Glantalbahn.
